Google Plus to rival the Social Networking leader Facebook

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

Google Plus

Everybody knows that when it comes to Internet then only one company seems to be dominating and that is Google. They have grabbed almost all the internet cyberspace with their vast range of products like Gmail for Emails, Google Docs for Documents, Picasa for photos, YouTube for Videos and many more.

But Social Networking is one that has questioned Google’s abilities to launch a successful project that could beat and stand against the undisputed leader of Social Networking today that is Facebook. Google launched Orkut but it didn’t became world’s favorite in front of Facebook and was only constrained to two large markets India and Brazil only. And now it seems Google has finally stepped in by launching Google Plus which is going to be a Social Networking platform to rival Facebook. But again the question remains same “Will it be successful?”.

Google Plus in final phase

Right now the project google plus is in final beta phase and will be soon available to all and you will be able to login using your Google Accounts.

Google Plus is going to have something called Friend Circles which will allow you manage your friends list better and it is also going to have chat plus video calls which is definitely going to make Facebook add the feature of Video calls.  Just have a look at this video and take a look on the Creativity of what Google has to offer:

Thursday, May 19, 2011

imageToday I just checked the page rank of my blog and guess what? My blog again got a page rank. This time its 3. From the last couple of months it was stuck at zero and before that it was 4. But anyhow Google again considered my Blog and gave back its PR.

IE hole was the reason for attacks on GOOGLE !

Thursday, January 14, 2010

google

It was the Internet Explorer hole which helped the hacker to attack on Google and many other companies Microsoft confirmed on Thursday. These recent attacks raised the question if Google will survive in China or not. Now after Microsoft has found the problem they are trying to rectify it as soon as possible to prevent such kind of incidents.

Microsoft told that Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8 of all their popular operating systems like Windows 7, Vista, XP and Windows Server 2003,2008 are vulnerable to such kind of attacks. It was also found that the attacks were also made on companies like Adobe, McAffe including Google.

The fix to this will be included in the next patch by Microsoft which will be released on February 9.

Google may shut down in China !

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Google Recently Google made it clear that they may shut down their Chinese version soon. According to Google, the reasons behind it are Hacking attacks over Gmail accounts of Chinese human rights activists and the Google itself through some kind of malware. These activists are from US, Europe and China itself. It is also said that similar attacks were made on many other organizations in China. As a safety guideline Google asked its users to not click on suspicious links in their emails.

After considering the scope of attacks which are being made from last one year , Google came to the conclusion that the target of these attacks is to limit the free speech on web. The Search Engine Giant has decided to not to censor the results in coming days which means defying the Government of China. So this may ultimately lead to shutting down of operations of Google from China.

Google Nexus One a short review

Google Nexus One

Finally the rumors were over, on January 5 2010 Google released their first phone called Nexus One and stepped into the market of mobile phones.

Though the phone is not completely built by Google, we can say Google has assembled the phone with some parts from its own hood. And it is not surprising that the OS running inside it is Android which is also under Google. In my opinion this phone is the true competitor of Apple’s Iphone. This is my first time that I have compared any gadgets, so check them out.

Google Nexus one v/s Apple Iphone

I was just comparing these phones and I found that Google Nexus One is really giving a tough competition to Apple Iphone.

Google Adsense Do’s and Don’ts

Friday, December 11, 2009

Google ADsense Do's and Don'ts.. Google Adsense is one of the most healthy way of making money online with blogs and websites. Thanks to Google who is helping millions of people around the world make use of their awesome service.

If you have started using Google Adsense or already using Google Adsense then here are some small tips to help you get the best out of this great program:

  • Patience- If you are not getting enough clicks or Clicks on your ads are not changing into money then do not loose patience, as it always takes some time for a Blog to gain readership and get the maximum rate per click. The click to rate conversion depends upon the Page Impressions and unique visitors to your Blog.

  • Stop clicking on your own Ads as Google is smart enough to catch the defaulters and block their accounts if you do this daily. This makes Google watch you with a doubt and finally it may even end up in criminal penalties.

  • Never use Automated Tools for increasing your blogs CPM or clicks on Ads because Google counts this as illegal.

  • Stop asking People to click on your Advertisements. Many people write a line below the ads requesting people to click.

  • Do not form groups to click on each others ads because when simultaneous clicks come from same IP’s again and again, there is no click to rate conversion.

  • Do not put excess of Google Adsense ads on your pages as it distracts most of the visitors from visiting your blog and hence decreases the readership of your blog.

In the end I would say that let the visitors click naturally on your ads and then you would see that even small clicks leads to good rate conversions.

Google Transforming.. You must be amazed with the new Google homepage you are seeing these days. Google has officially released its new homepage with an animation effect.

What has Changed ?

Google's New Homepage (Click to Enlarge)

Now when you open Google, there are no links visible on the screen but when you move your cursor over the Google Homepage the links appear magically with a fade in effect.

This is a cool thing brought up by Google for changing their boring screen to some kind of a visual treat to eyes of its users.

Here’s the video:

No More ! Google Adsense Video Units ….

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

adsense_logo The much hyped Adsense Video Units which allow Video ads to run on your blog had been shut down in April after a bad response from the audience.

I think people didn’t find them useful because they needed to be played manually. And moreover they were boring as one has to watch them like those we watch on TV! Who likes them?? arrgggghhh!!! . I feel that’s a good decision of Google as they say they want to focus on other things ..

So if you are still running them on your blogs then remove them now as they will not turn the precious clicks into money !.

You can read more about it at Google Adsense Blog …….

Understanding Ad Channels in Google AdSense

Sunday, August 3, 2008

google_smMost of you who are using AdSense & don't know what are those Ad Channels Right !! Ad Channels which you see during the setting up of an ad for your Blog or Web Site. The same question was in my mind when I started using AdSense in June 2007 last year. But I got the answer at that time & started configuring them every time I set up an ad.

Now its time for you to understand the Ad Channels in AdSense which is really a great feature of Google AdSense. First of all you should know that Ad Channels have nothing to do with ads display .

So lets understand them in a simple & a short way..

When ever you setup an ad in AdSense, Google asks you to create an ad channel for the ad. The Ad Channel you create helps you to track the performance of ads which come under the channel.

ad-channels-dreadbob

Performance of ads includes the number of clicks the ads get. Always name the ad according to the size & the location where you are going to place the ad on your blog. For example- I am going to use 468x60 ad on right top of my blog, then I would give the name to the ad like '468x60 Top Right ad' which will help me check them better.

This will give you a better idea of the location of Ads on your site where they get maximum clicked or attention. This can also help you get rid of extra unwanted ads on your blog which are just occupying your precious blog space.

I would reccomend you to first experiment & then choose where to place ads so that you get maximum profit. So by configuring ad channels you can earn big, if you follow it properly.

Google updating Page Rank - July 2008

Sunday, July 27, 2008

images Well the time has come again & Google is set to update the page ranks of Web sites. Last year when I started my blog I was able to reach Page Rank 6 which was for a short time & it dropped to 4 . Google updates the page rank to refresh the Webs site database but unfortunately many sites have to suffer as they see dropping in their higher ones to lower .

Anyway, its also said that this update may bring smiles to the owners of the sites which were earlier penalized by Google in its last update.

Like most of the guys I have worked a lot on my Blog's back links number , SEO & traffic. Lets keep the fingers crossed & hope for the best..

God Bless.. All the best to all ..Praying

Google Adsense Referral closing down, Welcome Google Affliate Network!

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

logo

Google has decided to shut down their current Adsense Referrals Program as they have tied up with Doubleclick. Now Google is almost ready to launch their new program called Google Affiliate Network.

I came to know this from a mail from Google team which says that the program is down & the new one will be launched soon!. Here's clip of their mail :

Hello,

Thank you for participating in the AdSense Referrals program.
We’re writing to let you know that we will be retiring the AdSense
Referrals program during the last week of August. We appreciate
your patience during this transition and here are some alternative
options to consider:

    * Google Affiliate Network: As part of the integration of
DoubleClick, the DoubleClick Performics Affiliate Network will now
operate as the Google Affiliate Network for advertisers targeting
users located in the United States. Similar to the AdSense
Referrals program, the Google Affiliate Network enables publishers
to apply for advertiser programs and get paid based on
advertiser-defined actions instead of clicks or impressions.

& BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!......

If you are currently running their referral ads, then remove it from your site as their will be no conversions now . I have removed my one referral ad of 'Download Manager' when I came to know about this, as they are of no use now & are just occupying Web site space..

Google Affiliate Network will be better than the Adsense Referral program as this is what Google is saying.

Let's hope it'll BE the same what Google says & the publishers like us will be able to earn better.
